A. BOILING WATER (for metal pipes only) – Water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit and plastic PVC pipes get soft at 175 degrees Fahrenheit. But if you have metal pipes, slowly pouring a gallon of boiling hot water (not just hot tap water) might be enough to break up the congealed soap and hair that is blocking the pipe.
